Q: How did you get into twirling?
“I got into twirling at the age of 2. My mom was a baton twirler, and she took me to a competition to just watch. Immediately, I saw the pretty costumes and knew that twirling was soon to be everything to me!”
Q: What does it feel like to be a razorback twirler?
“To me, what it feels like to be a Razorback Twirler is pride for my school and being a role model to the younger generations. Not only do we get to show love and support for the university, but we also get to watch young kids look up to us in hopes that one day they get to be in our shoes! Nothing is better than sharing my love for my sport and my school with those around me.”
Q: What are your responsibilities as a captain of your team?
“As one of the captains, we take on responsibilities such as knowing choreography, making sure the team is ready with the information they need on game days, and coming prepared for anything that might come up.”
Q: What have you learned from being a leader of your team?
“Being in a leadership role, I’ve learned that it’s not always easy to bring the team as one, but it’s so rewarding to see all of our hard work pay off. On the good days and the bad days, it is my job as a leader to continue to help us go in the right direction—whatever that may be.”

Q: Can you describe what the team culture is like?
“One thing about our team is that we love each other and our hogs unconditionally. It can be a challenge with a team of all girls to get along and love each other, but at the end of the day we are always there to support and help one another in both twirling and home life.”
Q: What is the hardest part of being a student athlete?
“As a student athlete, we have to have good time management skills. Being able to juggle school, practice, and a life of just being a student can be tough. Being able to get everything accomplished without feeling drained is the hardest struggle for me. Something I always do is plan. Whether that’s just for my day or for a month ahead, I make a plan for myself and stick to it. This is how I can juggle everything without feeling too exhausted!”

Q: has your experience as a twirler impacted your college journey?
“Being a twirler at the university level has made my college experience one that I will always remember. Not everyone can say that they get to be on the field performing for 75,000 people, and that is so special to me. Because of this opportunity, I have gotten my own twirling students who hope to one day be in my shoes—it is truly so special!”
Q: What’s something that most people wouldn’t know about being a Razorback Twirler?
“Something that always surprises people when they hear that I am a Razorback Twirler is our call time for games. Before each home game, we have a 7 hour call time beforehand. In that time we practice, eat something, and get ready to conquer the day!”
Q: What motivates you to succeed in both athletics and academics?
“Something that motivates me to succeed in both athletics and academics is the thught of my grandpa. He was there for my journey from the beginning, and he helped me succeed in both school and twirling. He would call me after every test, and make sure it went well for me. He would sit at every competition for hours, smiling ear to ear and always let me know how proud he was. He became my angel this year, but the thought of him makes me keep going.”
Q: What do your post-college goals include?
“After college, I plan to use my marketing degree and stay in the Arkansas area. My big goal is to open The Goddard School, and run my own preschool/daycare. I have had this goal since I was 7 years old, and I hope to be able to live out my dreams!”
